Become a Friend
The McCahon House Trust runs a Friends membership programme for people wishing to make a modest annual contribution to the project and in particular to support the artists in residence. For just $100 per annum you can help the Trust fulfil its duty to run the residency programme and to pay the artists a stipend during that period.
The McCahon House residency aims to give artists the opportunity to develop their work through a supportive programme while living in the environment that impacted so profoundly on the work of Colin McCahon. Each residency will conclude with an exhibition at Lopdell House Gallery.
Friends will receive regular information on events at the McCahon House and invitations to the preview night of post residency exhibitions at Lopdell House Gallery. Friends also get the opportunity, where practicable, to meet artists in residence and see them at work in the studio. Each of these artists provides a limited edition series of works to the Trust and these are first offered to benefactors and Friends at a discounted price.
Bill Hammond Print
A limited edition print by Bill Hammond has been produced by the Trust to support the programme. The work is Hammond's response to McCahon. The edition of 100 prints is printed on 250gm BFK Rives 575x430 French Rag paper by Paper Graphica in Christchurch. They are unframed. We are making some of these prints available to the public and we are able to offer them to Friends and benefactors at a discount. If you are interested contact Cynthia Smith (09)817 8087 x 203 or at mccahon@lopdell.org.nz
